The Babyzen Yoyo stroller is a great option if you're on a budget and do not need an extra stroller that can be used as a car seat carrier. It features a flip-flop-friendly one-step footbrake.

It's also easy to push and feels sturdy when navigating kerbs or woodland pathways. Plus, it's a dream to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned a reputation as the ultimate lightweight stroller, both for urban dwellers as well for jet-setters. This is due to its extremely nimble handling and fold that fits into an aeroplane's overhead luggage. This latest version boasts independent suspension on all four wheels that is made of Hytrel Elastomer, which allows it to effortlessly navigate all types of surface and terrain'.

The curved fabric bassinet, base YOYO2 and 6+ months colour pack combine to create a sleek pushchair with a subtle elegant look. The frame's weight alone is just under a kilo and is so light you can easily lift it out of the box (and do it with one hand).

It's also easy to attach or remove attachments or adaptors such as the hood, for example, snaps onto the YOYO2 with reassuring clicks - as well as being machine washable to remove staining from rice cakes smushed and half-dissolved carrot puffs. The Newborn Pack and bassinet can be used from birth as an infant stroller. It can also be transformed into a stroller at 6 months by using the YOYO connect other chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

The Evenflo Pivot Xplore is a great option for parents who want a versatile stroller wagon. The Evenflo Pivot Xplore can be converted from a single running stroller into an actual wagon by flipping the handle. Parents can then select which mode is best for their needs. The wagon can hold one or two children from 6 months old to 5 years, and it comes with a large storage basket that can accommodate all of your on-the-go needs.

The Xplore also features dual canopies that rotate from the front to the back, offering ample sun protection for all family members. It has a smaller footwell than some wagons. This may not be suitable for long trips or naps.

The frame of the Xplore wagon feels solid and sturdy however, it isn't able to bend like other wagons that we tried. It is also more difficult to fold than many of the other models, and it does not secure when folded. It is easy to maneuver, though, and it can be able to fit through narrow 28-inch doors.

3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side

This basic double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent choice for parents looking for a budget-friendly secondary travel stroller. It earned an eye-catching score in our Strollers and Multiples test for weight and size folded which means it's light, compact when folded and easy to lift into a car trunk or closet. It also comes with an adjustable recline seat that can be adjusted in multiple positions and a cup holder for the parent. Other important features include 360-degree shock-absorbing front wheels and two large hanging storage bags.

It performed better in our push and turn test than a lot of the strollers we tested but is nonetheless difficult to maneuver on uneven ground or through narrow doors. The sunshades are among the smallest we tested, offering only a direct overhead coverage and no peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have much larger canopies.

It took us less than three minutes to put together the Delta with a standard manual. None of the parts required tools. It's missing certain features we believe are essential for a double stroller. These include an extra-large basket, reclining seats and leg rests that can be adjusted.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is the latest version of Maxi-Cosi's pushchair range and is described as an urban travel system. It is suitable from birth to around 3.5-years-old. The seat and carrycot can be converted easily with a few clicks. It can also be used with Maxi-Cosi capsule car seats and comes complete with the lightweight Mico 30 infant car seat, a stay-in-car base and a reversible carriage.

It's really easy to maneuver and the one-hand recline of the seat and the super large shopping basket make it easy for parents to get their child in and out of the seat quickly. This narrow pushchair handled every day bumps and doors with ease.

The front wheels can be locked in a forward position or allow them to swivel which is helpful when traversing rough terrain. We allowed the front wheels to rotate during our walk on the stony path. It handled this reasonably well, though it did seem a little rougher.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2,

Baby Jogger is most famous for its 3-wheeled, all-terrain jogging strollers. But they also produce a wide variety of pushchairs that have four wheels. City Tour 2 is their most well-known model. It folds easily and fits easily in the trunk of a car even with a carrycot attached.

It weighs more than other strollers that we tried, but because it has rubber composite wheels it feels solid and well-made. It's a breeze to maneuver across all kinds of terrain, and it's also a breeze to lift, even when loaded with two kids and a shopping bag.

Both the seat and carrycot have hoods that can be lowered to reveal a UV50+ sun canopy extension. They are showerproof and sturdy, unlike some other pram hoods that get turned back into toddlers' faces.

It's not a lot of storage space, but it does have a large, deep basket to hold a changing bag or plenty of groceries. It can also be used with a Baby Jogger car seat for infants who weigh 20 pounds or less (car seat and adapters are sold separately). The City Tour 2 is a good choice if you want to take a stroller on the move.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

Nuna Mixx was a stroller that won the hearts of a lot of parents when it first appeared. It's an aluminium framed stroller that will be with you throughout your baby's first years and beyond. It has a number of distinctive features like the possibility of flipping the seat between parent and world-facing, a large UPF 50+ canopy that has an eye shade that flips out as well as a large basket and adjustable handlebar.

The wheels are durable and filled with foam, which reduces the risk of punctures and the chassis has built-in suspension which takes the sting out of bumpy terrain. It was easy to push and our tester was able to maneuver the vehicle through the narrow streets.

It folds automatically and locks in just four steps. It can also be rolled and raised for easier transport down the stairs or in the car's boot. It also comes with a travel system equipped with the ability to add a car seat and a carrycot using the included adaptors. The brakes are simple to use, using a single person buggy color coded and flip-flop-friendly.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget pushchair is simple to use and comes with a great dual suspension. It can be folded with one hand and comes with a handy carrying strap. It's also extremely light and sturdy. The seat is reclined in many positions and is equipped with a double breathable mattress that's suitable from birth.

The canopy/seat has two extra-large fixed or flip out sun visors, both of which are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn’t ideal as it’s not as quiet as Velcro and could wake up napping babies.

The Duet is a side-by-side stroller and can be adapted to take twins or siblings (up to 22kg max per seat). It is compatible with two infant car seats and even works with a few carrycots. In twin mode, the seats can be positioned so that they face each the other. They can also be set towards the parents. This can help to lessen sibling fights over who sits with mom and dad. It comes with a massive gear tray, bottle holder as well as snack trays and a change mat. It also has an automated frame lock as well as a compact fold.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2

The Thule Urban glide 2 is a great stroller for parents who like to be active. It's among the lightest strollers that you can purchase for your child. The Urban Glide 2 doesn't come with adapters that will fit the majority of bassinets and car seats for infants, but you can use them starting from the first day using adapters that work with brands such as BOB, Graco Combi Evenflo Britax UPPAbaby. It folds compactly and takes 5-10 minutes to assemble with no tools. The user manual is easy to read and is available in multiple languages.
