Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding division, Mulliner, has designed a unique key case to mark the centennial of the company. It is constructed of Dark Stained Burr Walnut with Piano Black Veneer and includes an eagle-like "B" paperweight keys, as well as an unreleased booklet with 1930s 8 Litre images.

Aesthetics

Bentley celebrated its 100th anniversary in the year 2019 100 years after the marque was established. Design

Function

The Bentley Mulsanne Key features two buttons that open the trunk, and another that is used to start the vehicle. It also has a button to switch on the parking break. The knob can be used to fold or unfold the mirrors while parking in a tight space. This feature helps you get in and out of your vehicle.

Each key takes about two days to create. It is cut by hand shape, sewn, sealed, and polished to produce an excellent finish. It is durable small and compact, and it fits the Bentley key perfectly. Its style is similar to the Volkswagen Phaeton large car's key however, it feels heavier and has a luxurious feel.

It also has Secure-A-Key that helps to prevent theft of keys without keypads. This device is placed inside the remote-control fob, and is disabled when the key isn't used for a few minutes. It stops thieves from transmitting the key's frequency to other devices which can be used to open and start the car.

Personalisation

Bentley's Mulliner division allows customers to design their car. Every time a choice is made the pattern that emerges shows the model colors, style and color preferences for the bespoke Bentley.

The resulting configuration is stored on individual R.F.I.D.-enabled key master bentley cards which are presented to the guests in a custom-made key case. Bentley estimates that it takes about 500 man-hours to build and assemble a Mulsanne. A key to that time-consuming effort is a deliberate refusal to take advantage of modern technology. The Crewe factory workers do not utilize a machine for arranging perfectly matched leather seats. Instead they do it by hand. Drivers have to park their cars manually, not using sensors built into the vehicle to direct them to perpendicular and parallel spots.

Bentley showcased its Mulliner personalization capabilities in a special Mulsanne W.O. Edition, that pays tribute to William Osler, the founder of Bentley. Edition, which pays tribute to the man who founded the company, William Osler Bentley. The 100 limited edition cars include an item key that shows an item from the 1930 8 Litre crankshaft.
